York Ice Trail 2023 kicks off with the first stunning ice sculpture revealed

The York Ice Trail returns on February 3 and 4 and will feature 33 ice sculptures throughout the city. The ‘City of Dreams’ sculpture, resembling a steam locomotive and incorporating York Minster, Clifford’s Tower, and the bar walls, is among the 33 sculptures to be displayed. In addition to the ice sculptures, grounds of Middletons Hotel will be transformed into a mystical ‘Wonka world of chocolate’. The event will also feature ice sculptures sponsored by local businesses such as Grand Central and York Park & Ride. St Sampson’s Square will showcase ice sculptors creating new works of art. The trail is expected to be a huge success, drawing thousands of visitors and bringing a positive impact to businesses in the area.
