University of York collaborates with Federation of Small Businesses to gather feedback

The collaboration between Enterprise Works and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) at the University of York is conducting research on women overcoming social bias and business barriers, and identifying the need to eliminate continued gender equality conversations in the next decade. Reports have shown the benefits of female entrepreneurship to the British economy and the importance of addressing the challenges women face in business. The research is focusing on addressing unique challenges in York & North Yorkshire and developing solution-based approaches. Prof Kiran Trehan, leading the research, emphasizes the importance of gathering information to inform opportunities and challenges for female business owners. Carolyn Frank, Development Manager for FSB York & North Yorkshire, highlights the need to maximize the value offered by female entrepreneurs in the region and understand what is holding them back. Women can participate in the survey and attend an interactive workshop to dive deeper into the issues and define solution-based actions. The workshop, taking place on January 31st at The Guildhall in York, will directly inform strategic recommendations. Participants can sign up at https://www.fsb.org.uk/event-calendar/women-in-enterprise-york-north-yorkshire.html.
