Now police are urging residents to be vigilant after a series of break-ins in Thirsk over a seven-day period. According to North Yorkshire Police, homes in Long Street and Green Lane West were targeted between January 12 and 19. The burglars targeted an unoccupied home in Long Street, smashing windows and stealing jewelry, cash, and electronic goods. Another break-in occurred on the same street while the house was empty. On January 19, suspects broke into a home in Green Lane West, stealing aftershave and perfume.
Detective Constable Dave Hunton of North Yorkshire Police advised residents to review their home security and stay alert, particularly during the dark winter months. He also appealed for information on the stolen items and urged anyone with information to contact North Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers.
