South Bank Multi Academy Trust Addresses Community Concerns in Meeting

The meeting at Southlands Methodist Church on November 30th included disturbing reports of vulnerable students and families poorly served by South Bank MAT and teachers afraid to speak out about their concerns. The entire governing body of Scarcroft Primary School resigned in September, citing a breakdown in trust and communication with the academy trust. Representatives from the trust declined to attend the meeting, citing distress and damage to individual reputations. MP Rachael Maskell has raised concerns about the academy trust’s accountability in Parliament. The trust has stated that it will not engage with public meetings or third parties. It encourages parents with concerns to raise them through proper channels directly with their child’s school.
