Their new album ‘A Matter of Time’ is doing well at No.1 on the midweek chart. The Sheds hopes it remains there when the official album chart is announced on Friday. Vocalist Rick Witter hopes it will be their first number one album and the first for a band from York. Their previous best-selling album peaked at No.7. The album ‘A Matter of Time’ has been popular since its January 5 release. The band’s album release shows this month are all sold out. The album’s limited edition vinyl and live edition, as well as the band’s two 30th anniversary shows, are also sold out. The band is maintaining momentum with a 10-date record store tour and recently appeared on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. The chart-topping success has been a long time coming, according to York arts reviewer Charles Hutchinson. He expressed hope for Shed Seven’s continued success. The band will be playing ‘A Matter of Time’ in full at three sold-out album release shows this month and will have outdoor ‘homecoming shows’ in York in July. Witter thanked fans for their support and hinted at more plans for the year.
