Rawcliffe residents outraged as raw sewage seeps into homes in York

The subscription content is available in the yorkpress.co.uk’s article. It discusses the issue of raw sewage backing up into homes and gardens in the Rawcliffe area of York. Lisa Footman, a resident of Bowland Way, has been dealing with this problem for the past four years, blaming the nearby Yorkshire Water pumping station as the cause. However, Yorkshire Water denies this and claims that the overload is due to a housing development feeding into the sewer. The sewage backing up caused distress to the residents, limiting their water usage and causing damage to their property. Yorkshire Water and Redrow are working together to investigate the issue. Cllr Darryl Smalley has joined the residents in calling for a resolution to the problem.
