Miller Homes Seeks Approval for Copmanthorpe Development with Reserved Matters Application

Miller Homes aims to construct 133 homes at Copmanthorpe, along with 7 self-build properties on a 7.56ha site south of York. The proposal comes after Gladman Homes received approval to build 158 homes on the same site in July 2022.

In addition to this project, Gladman also submitted plans for a 410 home scheme in Tadcaster and has announced plans for 500 homes in its Eleven Arches scheme off Wetherby Road.

The proposed development by Miller Homes includes access from Tadcaster, along with a green buffer to the west and a pocket park in the south-western corner. The design and layout changes have been made following consultation with nearby residents in October 2023.

The proposed development will consist of a mix of detached, semi-detached, and small-terraced homes ranging from one to five bedrooms, with 30% of the homes being affordable. The plan aims to reflect the current market stock in the area and meet the demands for property of this type.

The application concludes that the proposal will deliver sustainable development and bring significant social, economic, and environmental benefits without any significant adverse impacts. It is respectfully requested that the application be approved without delay.
