Mannion & Co prepares to resume business following Blake Street disturbance

Jonathon Webster, manager at Mannion and Co, in Blake Street, closed his business on January 15 due to limited customer access during the work by City of York Council. Now he plans to reopen as he needs the business. The council has apologised for the inconvenience and stated that all affected businesses and residents were notified about the works in 2023. The bollards installation work has caused disruption in Blake Street. The council assured that they would maintain access to businesses while the work is carried out. The footway closure on a section of the northern side of Blake Street will switch sides to the southern footway on February 1, and the street is expected to reopen by March. Additional promotional support will be provided to all businesses on the street by the York BID and the Federation of Small Businesses.
