Luke Jackson Takes the Stand in Costcutter Robbery Trial

At his trial, Luke David Jackson denied going to the Costcutter store in Wains Road, Dringhouses, at 9.50am on Sunday, August 6, claiming he shopped at a Co-op store closer to his home. The prosecution alleges that he left his home at 9.29am, returned at 11.10am, and robbed the Costcutter store in between. Jackson denied being the person seen on CCTV footage and disputed prosecution claims, including the allegation that he carried out the robbery using a knife. The jury is set to hear closing speeches before considering their verdicts.

The judge also stated that the jury will be directed to return a not guilty verdict on a charge of carrying a knife in public due to insufficient evidence.
