Identifying Risk Factors for Early-Onset Dementia before 65

The research followed over 350,000 people < 65 in the UK. It was funded by Alzheimer’s Research UK and published in Jama Neurology. According to scientists, dementia risk is not solely determined by genetics. The study identified factors that can increase the risk of young-onset dementia including orthostatic hypotension. It's now believed that up to 4 in 10 dementia cases worldwide are linked to these factors and that risk can be reduced through targeting different factors.
