The group raised money for two homeless charities and learned about the challenges homeless people face. It was an eye-opening experience for them, and they emphasized that anyone could become homeless due to circumstances beyond their control. The group hopes to have raised thousands of pounds for Carecent and Inspire North, two organizations that provide housing and support for the homeless. Carecent offers breakfast, clothing, and fellowship, while Inspire North helps people find proper accommodation and transition from the streets to a home. The sleepover event was organized by the Yorkshire North and East District of the Methodist Church for the fifth year. The group was also joined by others who slept in their own gardens as part of the event. The sleep out experience was shared by the group to help them understand the issues faced by homeless people and to raise awareness about the challenges of living on the streets.
