Firefighters in Selby and Malton Race to Protect Homes from Flooding

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews have been busy dealing with flooding in various parts of the region. In Selby, they were pumping water away from homes in three different locations to prevent it from entering the properties. In Buttercrambe, a fire officer closed a road near a children’s center due to flooding and helped evacuate cars from a nearby care home. In Ripon, a crew responded to a vehicle stuck in flood water after trying to cross a ford. They also responded to flood water affecting a residential property in South Milford and provided assistance to homeowners in preventing water from entering the property. In other areas like Thirsk, Tadcaster, and Malton, crews were also called to address flooding issues and provide assistance to affected properties.
