The Co-op is set to stop its rewards scheme, replacing it with “Member Prices” that offer discounts on both Co-op branded and non-branded products and services. Currently, members receive 2p for every £1 spent on the supermarket’s own-brand goods, but this is set to change from January 24, 2024. Instead, members will be offered exclusive discounts across various Co-op businesses through the new “Member Prices” scheme. The decision to ax the rewards scheme was made in response to the tough times faced by the Co-op’s member owners and communities, with the aim of providing more immediate value back to its members.
