The RSPCA in York is currently caring for a pair of rabbits at their animal home off Landing Lane.
The staff are hoping to find an adopter who can take both bunnies, as they have formed a strong bond and the RSPCA wants them to stay together.
One of the rabbits, India, was abandoned in poor condition by her previous owner, while the other rabbit, Jester, was returned to the shelter after his previous girlfriend passed away.
The two rabbits have become close friends since arriving at Landing Lane.
The staff member emphasized that the rabbits are in need of a new home through no fault of their own and would be happy living indoors, as long as they have plenty of enrichment and space.
The RSPCA is looking for potential adopters who can provide a hutch of at least 6ft with an attached covered run of at least 10ft x6.5ft x 3ft, but encourages even larger accommodations for the rabbits.
